Thanksgiving 2012 Meow

Saturday, November 17th, 2012.
Friends! The above picture is of Elizabeth taking her first steps! I am one proud Mama and have been showing the internet world this picture over and over again. Part of myself feels guilty for posting so many pictures of her on Facebook. I don't post much on any other site. Excluding this one... I also have a few on a Mom365 site I joined when first having Bean. Any of you  Mom's out there who haven't joined I encourage you too! Or if you are or trying to get pregnant! It's great for asking questions about anything!

OH! I also found the blog I wrote while I was pregnant. It's is a good laugh.

 All about Elizabean!

Anyways. I know I bug the shit out of some people, posting so many pictures. I really can't help myself though. I want to share ALL of Elizabeth's accomplishments with my family and friends. Especially family who we rarely get to see. My Grandparent's for example, who have become very attached to her, but move to Mexico for 6 months out of the year. Their gone but still got to experience Bean's first steps in a way. Frank ( and I guess myself, since we're married) has family in California, Ohio, and the Philippines. Bean hasn't met any of them but they still get to see pictures and I just think it's so neat.

Part of the reason, okay, most of the reason I started this blog was so I could talk about Bean and people could read up if they wanted to. I thought it would make me feel better about talking about her so much, but I still have this guilty, deep in the gut, feeling that I should probably cut down a bit and just keep some memories for Frank and I. Bah! I don't know.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2012!
Yee, so Thanksgiving was yesterday. Facebook was full of statuses of what everyone was thankful for. I of course decided to not put what I was thankful for and post a picture of Bean instead. He he.

My day started off by waking up to a familiar feeling at about 8AM. Bean was sprawled out across my torso with a full diaper. Diapers usually last around 10 hours with Bean... who pee's 24/7. ( Which is probably my fault since we still breastfeed and the only other liquid she drinks is water.) Anyways, that familiar feeling was Bean's milk induced pee running down my hip onto the bed. Sigh. This happens every other day. At least I'm forced to wash my sheets all the time. ( Yeah, I'm looking on the brighter side of the situation.) I got myself and Bean up and stumbled into her room, and got her some button up, to small, pajamas to throw on her since it was literally 50 degrees in the house.

I grabbed a Monster, prenatal and banana, stuck Bean inside her Sit 'N' Play and proceeded to get on my computer and browse the internetz until I fully woke up. Frank was home today, still sleeping in the peed filled bed, as it was Thanksgiving and he would sleep as long as I would let him. Ha ha.

I'm not going to lie, I have a full blown Pinterest addiction now. So many neat ideas!

My Pinterest!

The day before Thanksgiving I was paid and went and bought apples and caramel sauce for that delicious  culinary art piece you see to your right there. I, of course, found the image on Pinterest.

After browsing the web for what was probably a good hour I went and bathed you know who and proceeded to put a dress and tights on her. She fought the entire time. Elizabeth is one to likes to wiggle her toes and run around naked - which I'm sure is with every child. I have some fond memories of my baby sister running naked through the house, shrieking with excitement just because she was "nakie!" Lol. After showering on mine and Frank's half and a good nap from Bean we headed to my parents house around 12:30PM thinking we would be early as my mother told me dinner was going to be around 2PM. My older sister and her family had already showed and the house was full of chaos.

I won't go into detail about the whole dinner situation but lets just say, I didn't fully enjoy myself and Tyler left to skateboard 5 minutes before dinner was done.

We ended up leaving around 4:30PM to go to dinner number 2 at Frank's parents house. By this time Bean hadn't had her 2nd nap and was cranky and whining about everything. Again, not going to go into detail about dinner but the same goes for this home. Didn't fully enjoy myself.

Frank got a free turkey from work, as he does every year, so he is going to make his own Thanksgiving Feast today. We'll see how it turns out.

I feel like it's Sunday today but it's Friday... Black FRIDAY! I don't do black Friday. I don't like people and I don't like shopping. I don't think the day would turn out well for me if I even tempted at it.

Laptop Madness

I'm currently sitting on our love seat. Watching Youth in Revolt. I hated this movie the first time I watched it. This is the 3rd time I've watched it and seems to get better each time. Elizabeth is passed out sideways on my lap, hugging my right arm. Yes, this means I am using the laptop for purposes other than work. Shocking, I know. I'm not a fan of laptops. Their keyboards are small and the palms of my hands always end up rubbing up against the 'mouse area' and I end up screwing up whatever I've written. I think they were made for people with more patience and small hands. Also, all my pictures are on the desktop...so no recent pictures of the Bean. I suppose I could always copy and paste some from Facebook. We will see how I feel when the time comes. I'm feeling lazy at the moment and copy and pasting seems like way to much work right now.

Anyways, whats currently going on in the life of myself and Elizabeth.

Bean is a master at "wall walking" now. For those of you which no children, "wall walking" is pretty much how it sounds. She holds onto anything with in arms reach and walks. Today she actually stood by herself for about a good minute. It was intense. Ha ha ha. It's so funny watching her walk. For her size it just doesn't look right. She's so small! I'm so curious what she's going to be like when she's older.
Everything, according to Bean is always " Dada!" For the time being. Occasionally she will say "kitty" or "mam" but not often.
Photo: Bean and I being crazy!
As you can see I found motivation to find a picture. Bean and I from yesterday!
Lets see, what else does she do? She can wave bye-bye now. She also has her top 2 teeth coming in. One is coming faster than the other, so she has one big front tooth, pretty silly looking. Her having teeth really hasn't affected her nursing either. Yep, I'm still nursing. Probably going to try and wean her off after she turns 1 or so. So can't wait to have a glass of wine with out feeling guilty.

I've been to work a few times now. I think it's going pretty well. At least for me it is. Leaving Elizabeth is pretty hard for me still. I feel so bad and she won't take any milk from a bottle or her tippy. Luckily she drinks water from her tippy and does eat a few bites of other foods. Mom also brings her by since work is right in Stanwood and Bean and I can reconnect for a few short minutes and get some nutrious boob milk into her. Frank and I's finacial situation seems to just be getting worse and worse so the few extra hours I've been putting in has been going towards food, so that is good I suppose.

Anyways, Bean woke up about 5 minutes ago and Frank is trying to hold her and play Halo4 at the same time which doesn't work. So I'm off to save her.

Ciao friends!

6:15PM

It's 6:15PM and almost completely dark out. Seriously? I was so ready for fall, now that it's here I just want my sun back. Maybe taking Bean to the pumpkin patch this weekend will help lift my spirits. Keep your eyes  peeled friends, for a post following this weekend. I'm sure I'll have a countless amount of pictures of Bean and the fam to show you all.

Bean is 42 weeks old today. I think it's so weird that parents, doctors, or anyone with a child, uses weeks as an age. I should start telling people how many weeks old I am. There are actually a few people on my Facebook that actually celebrate, with cake and presents, each time their child turns another month older. Yeah, I know, it's crazy. Anyways, the only reason I know how old Liz is in weeks is because I get "newsletters" in my e-mail saying " Your child is 42 weeks old today!" I signed up for only God knows how many baby sites online. It's actually really nice. Who needs doctors? I have the internet! ( For all you Mom freaks out there, don't worry, I was joking in that last sentence. We go to the doctor.)

This weeks newsletter reads:

YOUR BABY IS 42 WEEKS OLD
  • This week, many babies start another fussy period as they struggle to incorporate all the learning they've been doing.
  • Often babies this age will hold out an arm or leg to help you when you're getting them dressed.
  • He may be able to hand-feed himself an entire meal though just as much many end up on the floor!

Usually, these are pretty spot on with Bean. Obviously, every child is different so to make a week by week 'What your child could be doing' newsletter or whatever, is pretty cool if you ask me.

Currently, Elizabeth can do the following:

- Crawl. Yes, that means she's been exploring everything. Although she's only made it half way through the hallway. The hallway is a pretty scary place.
- Pull herself up onto anything that is within her arms reach. The video above is her doing it for about the 3rd time.
- Play Peek-A-Boo. That means she can actually lift a blanket above her head and move it down. This is her favorite game, I swear she'll play it for hours if you would let her.
- Wave. Right now she gets that waving means " Hi!". So we've been going " Say hi to Gramma, Liz!" and she will wave to you. It's so cute. Still doesn't know you can do it when your leaving though.

Elizabeth!

Fall

Mishka
It's getting to be that time of year again when it gets dark before dinner time and I wake up to windows fogged over because it's so cold. The only good, or funny thing, about my windows being fogged over is watching the kitties get overly upset about not being able to see outside. They sit at the window, waiting forever, in hopes that they will be able to bird watch with out using their face as a wash cloth.

I love fall, but this whole being 60 degrees inside and being dark makes me so tired. It used to bug me but now I almost can't stand it considering I don't sleep at night anymore. Ever since I stopped working, Elizabeth has become overly attached and I can't lay her down by herself ( while she's sleeping) without her freaking out. She literally HAS to sleep ON me, or Frank. Frank rarely lets her sleep on him and I let him get away with it since he has to get up for work and I've been staying home for the main purpose of keeping Liz comfortable and raising her with good moral values. Ha ha ha. With that being said, I've decided to take up a job, 1 day a week, with Sophie as an office assistant. Not only will I have a little extra cash but I think it will be a good "break" from home and Liz. I tried going back to work when Bean was 2 months old. I worked for about 2 1/2 months and it didn't work out. Not only did I not get to see Liz as much as wanted, but I was, still am, nursing and nursing and working really don't work out unless you have baby with you. Unless your one of those unbelievably lucky parents whose child takes both boob and bottle. Lucky bitches.
So, I start tomorrow and it will be the first time I'm away from Bean for more than 4 hours in about a month. We left her back in September to go to a wedding and of course I missed her the whole time. I'm staying optimistic though. Sophie says it's pretty laid back there and it's only 1 day a week. Maybe it will help both Bean AND myself to learn to be away from each other for a little while and neither one of us will die. Ha ha!

Liz & I from our "walk" yesterday! We went to my parents house, lol.

The backyard and bit of my home.  The weather was so neat today!

9 Months and counting

Dear Blogging Friends,                                                                                       Sept. 30th, 2012

It's the 30th. That means Elizabeth was 9 months old yesterday. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be telling people I have a 9 month old. I don't know why, but for some reason 9 months seems so old. Old baby stage. We ( My Mama and I) took her to the doctor on Friday for a 9 month old check-up/ flu shot. Yes, still living a block away from my parents, so nice to have someone drive us to town when you only have one vehicle for the time being. Anyways, she's now 17 pounds and 6 ounces. 17 freaking pounds. For those of you who don't really keep up with my blog, Bean was born 5 pounds 13 ounces; so 17 pounds is ridiculous! SHES HUGE! 26 1/2 inches long, I forget how big her head is. The nurses write down everything on a piece of a paper for you but I have it stashed away in her bebe book so I remember to record it... which I rarely remember to do anyways. I always thought I'd be one of those Mom's who record each and every little thing, so I was stoked when my oldest sister got me her a Baby Book to do such things. Now it sits in her shelf and a month after she's done something "remarkable" I remember to run and record some stuff. By then my memory of the fact is pretty non- existent and I'm probably writing down nonsense, ha!

10:20am:
Elizabeth's currently sitting in her Baby Einstein "Sit 'n' Play, yelling at me. Poor thing has a horrible cold. I don't know if it's the flu shot...are flu shots supposed to make you sick??? She was so sick the day after she got hers. I've been running to her aid with a 'suck up snot' tool every 5 minutes so she can breath. Must be nice. I wish I was a baby again.
About 20 weeks old here. Playing in her Sit N Play for the first time!

Oct. 1st, 2012
9:25AM
I really tried to come back and write a little more yesterday... obviously that didn't happen. I was reading over what I wrote and started thinking about something I found online while I was pregnant.

That, friends, is a "Nasal Aspirator". If you look at the picture closely, the Mama is using her MOUTH to suck out the snot. I don't know about you but I defiantly don't have the balls to even wanna try that. I'm sure there's some sort of filter to save you from the mounds of mucus headed to your mouth while your sucking but yuck..still. I can see how something that freaking disgusting could be so appealing though after having a baby with an endless amount of snot coming out of her nose for the past 3 days.

I woke up to being peed on this morning. It's not that her diaper was so full that there was no where for it to go, which has happened before. It was that her diaper happened to be just perfect that pee would go all over myself and the bed.

Mama problemz.

Vote for Bean!

Before I start rambling on, please take a moment to click on the following link and vote for my Elizabeth!

Vote for Bean!

If she gets enough votes, she could win a ridiculous amount of money for college. She would have no excuse NOT to go. You can vote once, every day, for next 19 days. Please! Maybe bookmark the Gerber site so you don't forget. ;)

I'm aware the picture isn't that of quality but Frank entered her with out telling me. Personally, I would of chosen one of the following:
The "Grand Pooh Bah".

Bean's "Blue steal".

There's likely 50+ more I'd choose from so I'm not going to post them all.

I'm currently watching the news. " The worlds biggest Stir Fry." For realz guys? Can't find anything of more importance? Don't get me wrong, I like stir fry, so nomz, but geeze. I'm so tired of watching crap. Frank and I down-sized our cable a few months back. I've been living it up on Netflix since we only get channels 18 and under. That means during the afternoon, I get to watch things ( if I don't turn on Netflix) like Maury, Jerry Springer and shit. It's all shit.

Yesterday, I went and picked blackberries with Mom. I haven't picked berries in forever. Picking berries sums up about 75% of my childhood. I grew up in Alger and was at my Gramma's who had a huge flower farm with tons of berries and delicious goodies. You'd think since I've been around berries so much I've probably made a pie or two but that's not the case. I actually completed my first blackberry pie yesterday! So much easier than I thought it would going to be. I have yet to try it... I've been waiting for Frank ( who's been working non stop, poor guy) so we can try it together.
I'm not much of a baker... I think I'll be forced into it more now that I'm a Mama now.

Mama status FTW!

I've been so close to deleting my facebook. I'm so tired of peoples crap. I keep reading posts or pictures that say things like " Awesome women have curves and tattoos!", " Healthy is the new skinny!" When did it become okay to say crap like that? Everyone is their own. I'm awesome, I don't have curves or any tattoos. I'm healthy, I don't have any curves. You don't see me posting shit like " SKINNY PEOPLE ARE SO AWESOME AND FAT PEOPLE SUCK AND BLAH BLAH BLAH" I didn't get to choose the way my body looks just like someone who is 100 pounds heavier than me didn't get to choose either ( for the most part.)

Facebook has taught me that everyone is stupid and self-centered.

Craftz!

As a new "Mama" ( I used quotations with Mama because apparently the correct spelling is M-o-m-m-a, but every time I see it spelled that way I pronounce it "Moe-ma", which sounds ridiculous to me..so MAma it is!) I find myself being judged for the weirdest things. The other day, Frank and I were at PetSmart for the furry kidz and had put Elizabeth in the cart and buckled her up. She had just woken up so was a little wobbly but fine none the less. Yes, you guys, my now EIGHTH MONTH OLD ( yesterday actually!) is a pro at sitting up now, can take steps ( with help, of course) and is trying her hardest to crawl. ( She's a little behind in the crawling department but that was expected since she isn't much of a "tummy-time" lady.) I spend literally every second with her so I know, very well, whether if she is capable of sitting up in a store cart or not; but some 30something year old woman with 3 kids leaving the store just had  to make a comment.

" Oh! She is pretty little, are you sure she's going to be able to sit up in there??!"

Really lady? Freaking, really? Do seriously think we'd put our child in a store cart if she wasn't capable of sitting up on her own?

Frank, when shopping alone with Bean, apparently gets these comments a lot. That was the only one I've ever received, besides the first time we took Bean out to the grocery store when she was a month old and was told to put more clothes on her. SO. ANNOYING. She had THREE layers on and 2 blankets. I was ready to smack the lady. Nothing irritates me more than someone who thinks they can parent someones else's child better...and a lot of things irritate me. What makes them think they're SO much better at taking care of MY child? I know her better than anyone. People like that have a mentality that they're better than everyone and feel the need to share their "wisdom" to make the world a better place.

Okay. Done ranting...for now. I think.

I took this picture using my new iPhone 2 days ago.
It's almost fall! I'm so excited. I'm so one of those people that wish it was a different season every year. During the winter, all I can think of is how nice the sun would be, chilling in the grass with Sven and Mishka, THE BEACH. During the summer my thought process is " OMG! CHRISTMAS!!!!! CHRISTMAS CRAFTS!" Except for right now, it's the end of August and all I can think of is how cute Elizabeth is going to be when we can take her to the pumpkin patch and have her sit on pumpkins and take 45379389 photos.

Speaking of crafts and fall...and crafts. My frand Hannah got me addicted to this "App" off Facebook ( of course) called Pinterest. It's basically a crafters dream. So many ideas! I've gone completely nuts over most the ideas on the site and have vowed that I will finish all that I've stuck on "my board" called " Want to try!" The sad thing is, most of them are actually doable and I probably won't finish all of them, or as much as I'd like to. I'm going to put in a valiant effort though. I've already completed two! Which is awesome for myself considering I have an ACTUALLY attached eight month old on me 95% of the time I'm awake AND asleep.
This is one project that I finished. Obviously not in this picture but I keepz ma make-up tools in it!
These are rock frandz. Frand Hannah found the idea on the internets, cough cough, Pinterest. I put them in Bean's room.

So. I'm really hoping I'll be able to make more time for myself and do these crafts. I know all you Mama's out there are laughing at me but when there's a will there's a way! Bahahaha. Plus, Bean's been getting a whole lot better about "being by herself". OH! She eats food now too. Like, actual bites of delicious bebe foodz. Organic of course. Only my bebe would know the difference between regular food and organic.
